Foundation Waterproofing

Foundation Repair

Foundation waterproofing is essential in protecting your home from water damage and other related issues. The foundation is the base of your home, and any damage to it can cause significant problems that can be expensive and time-consuming to repair. Here are some of the critical reasons why foundation waterproofing is essential:

  1. Protection from water damage: Water can seep into your home’s foundation through small cracks and gaps. Over time, this water can cause significant damage to the foundation, leading to structural issues and potential collapse. Waterproofing the foundation prevents water from entering and causing damage.
  2. Prevents mould growth: Moisture in the foundation can lead to the growth of mould, which can be harmful to your health and cause damage to your home’s interior. Waterproofing the foundation prevents moisture from accumulating and reduces the risk of mould growth.
  3. Improves air quality: A damp foundation can lead to poor air quality in your home, harming your health. Waterproofing the foundation reduces moisture and improves air quality.
  4. Increases home value: Waterproofing the foundation can increase the value of your home. A house with a properly waterproofed foundation is more attractive to potential buyers, and it gives them peace of mind knowing that the home is protected from water damage.
  5. Saves money in the long run: Waterproofing the foundation may require an initial investment, but it can save you significant money in the long run. The cost of repairing a damaged foundation can be much higher than the cost of waterproofing it, and the time and inconvenience of such repairs can also be significant.

In conclusion, foundation waterproofing is essential in protecting your home from water damage, mould growth, poor air quality, and other related issues. It may also increase the value of your home and save money in the long run by preventing the need for costly repairs. It’s essential to consult with a professional to determine the best waterproofing solution for your home.

  2. Locate cracks and repair using an epoxy and leave a level surface and parge if needed.
  3. Important step is using a rubberised elasticated tar membrane which is troweled on thick to leave a thick barrier for water and the wall can still breathe.
  4. Apply a plastic layer over tar for enhanced protection.
  5. Apply the delta membrane over the wall for your final layer.
  6. Apply gravel and install weeping tile with filter cover which is connected to existing weeping tile or new drain or sump pump if needed.
  7. Apply a heavy layer of gravel to allow for water filtration so weeping tile never gets blocked. Then another layer of filter is placed before soil is replaced for filtering dirt.
  8. Apply a trim and seal on top of delta membrane to provide a final seal to your waterproofing, leaving your project water-resistant; then back-fill and grade ground.
